Since you're into debate, wanted to let you know about Now Debate This 2009. It's a U.S. debate and scholarship forum, but you can join the social network and get into the debate.
Maybe you know high school kids in the U.S. If you do, be sure to let them know:
All U.S. high school students are invited to participate in our ’09 Contests. The
theme this year is: “How can the U.S. achieve energy independence?”

that'd be great.

> Here are our three contests:

> 1. Presidential Prep Time— (Individual) 500 word essay and 10 blogs on the
biggest challenge Obama faces as the new U.S. president. Prizes: 3 Macbook computers,
5 $1000 scholarships. Essays due: January 20, 2009
> 2. 100-Day Presidential Challenge— (Group) Prompt: Determine your
community’s biggest energy challenge and what you will do about it. Prizes:
$5,000 technology prize for the school and a chance to present solution
proposals to Obama’s energy officials, Congress and industry leaders. Contest
begins: January 20, 2009
> 3. Now Debate This Scholarship for Juniors—(Individual) Prompt: Describe
what energy independence looks like in your community. Prizes: 16 debaters will
receive laptop computers, video cameras, $3,500 in summer stipends at minimum a
$2,000 scholarship, a travel immersion study across the country and the chance
to win a $150,000 grand prize scholarship and a $50,000 runner up scholarship.
